The 25-30 Year Hand-Carved Temple and its Surroundings

If you're looking for an inspiring and fascinating cultural experience, a visit to the 25-30-year hand-carved temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia is a must. This temple was created for a king as an arboretum and is estimated to have taken 25–30 years to build. During the dry season, the water in this temple's pond would be used for other purposes; however, in the rainy season, it forms a pool around it.

The large tree that grows up around one side of the temple is believed to be caused by birds building nests on its walls, dropping seeds which grow from the monsoon rainwater during season changes. It remains uncertain who built this particular temple, but locals believe that it was dedicated through visions of their god(s). Visitors can appreciate all of its intricate carvings and details which provide insight into the culture, history, and artistry prevalent at the time it was constructed.

Exploring Siem Reap further includes visiting two more temples - Banta Kadai and Tar Prom – both with their own unique stories that add depth to your overall cultural experience. After exploring these two more temples, you can climb an immense tree while enjoying breathtaking views from atop or go shopping at the Made In Cambodia Market where you will find beautiful handmade products from local artisans.

Visiting these sights will leave you feeling inspired by Cambodian culture and tradition, as well as provide knowledge about how people lived centuries ago. Exploring the Bayon Bion Temple in Cambodia

Exploring Siem Reap is a must-do for any traveler looking to get the full Cambodian experience. With so many things to do, it can be hard to decide what to prioritize. Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting some of Cambodia's most beautiful temples and exploring a massive tree in Siem Reap's countryside.

First on our list was climbing many steps, which was well worth it, to get an incredible view from the Treetop level where we were able to enjoy the cool breeze and stunning view. We then took our tour guide's recommendation and visited Bayon Bion Temple, an impressive temple made up of massive fields surrounded by large trees, giving an incredibly peaceful environment. This temple has 54 columns representing each of the provinces in Cambodia, but unfortunately visitors cannot enter due to safety issues. Be sure to watch out for monkeys and bats!

After visiting this temple, we intend to head off next week with our tour group for another larger mountain temple with an outstanding sunset view! In addition to temples, Banta Kadai or Tar Prom Temple offer great local artisans selling jewelry, clothes, and other handmade goods. As well as delicious street food vendors offering unique dishes such as barbecued bugles! Finally, for those looking for locally made souvenirs or gifts that will last after your trip ends, check out Made in Cambodia Market located near Pub Street, where you can find everything from clothing items and accessories made from silk or cotton materials, all crafted by local artisans.

As the day progressed, they made their way up to Angkor Wat at 4:30 pm to witness stunning sunset scenery.

From there, they visited a community-run market called Made in Cambodia, where they purchased handmade earrings made from fabric. This was an enjoyable experience, as the sellers were friendly, and the atmosphere was calm – shopping encouraged job creation for residents, benefiting both customers and sellers alike. At this market, you can find small items like handmade jewelry or bags that are uniquely crafted with traditional Cambodian designs, making them great souvenirs or gifts for friends and family back home!

Exploring the markets of Cambodia is an experience unlike any other. From the vibrant and loud Made in Cambodia Market to the quieter and haggle-friendly Old Markets, there's something for everyone. When heading to Siem Reap, it's important to plan ahead, especially if you're visiting during their hot season (March – April) when temperatures can reach as high as 30 – 33 degrees Celsius/86-91 Fahrenheit.

One of Siem Reap's the most popular attractions is Pub Street, which offers a relaxed daytime vibe that turns lively at nighttime. Here you'll find plenty of restaurants with vegan or vegetarian options that have inspiring stories behind them. Such as one woman who lost her dad and three sisters in the Cambodian genocide, but still managed to open up her own business.

After exploring Pub Street, take some time to visit Banta Kadai and Tar Prom Temples located nearby, where you can climb a massive tree for a stunning view over Siem Reap. Exploring Hindu Temples in Cambodia

Exploring Hindu temples in Cambodia is an incredible experience you won't soon forget. One of the most amazing places to visit in Cambodia is Siem Reap, home to a plethora of ancient temples and other cultural sites. During our stay, we had the privilege of visiting two impressive temples: Banta Kadai and Tar Prom.

Our first stop was the Prasat Kravan Temple, a 10th-century temple built for funerals. Constructed out of brick and sandstone, it has five pillars representing each element – Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, and Sky – embedded within its walls. It is located in the middle of a jungle with swamps on either side, making it quite an eerie yet beautiful place to explore!

We also visited another Hindu Temple dedicated to Vishnu, which was built during the first half of the 12th century.

This temple has much significance as it is located in the middle of a reservoir or water body, and you have to cross over a river to get there! Hinduism is at its heart associated with these temples, as they are dedicated to Vishnu, who is an important god in Hinduism.

Apart from exploring these two stunning temples, we also got an opportunity to climb a massive tree located nearby! We then wrapped up our day by shopping at Made In Cambodia Market, where we found some unique souvenirs for ourselves before heading back home!
